Cluj-Napoca National Theatre will present the performance The Cherry Orchard by A.P. Chekov, director Roberto Bacci, within the International Classic Theatre Festival in Arad, on Satuday, 22 November, 7 p.m.. The 20th edition of the festival takes place from 21 November to 30 November 2014, and is organized by the Arad City Hall, "Ioan Slavici" Classic Theatre and other, by now traditional, partners. The organizers want to present the audiences with a theatre "mix" comprised of two sections - "CLASSIC 20 NATIONAL" and "CLASSIC 20 INTERNATIONAL". Throughout the 9 days of the Arad festival, important artists from Croatia, Serbia, Hungary and Turkey will perform alongside artists from Romania. The performance Sânziana and Pepelea by Vasile Alecsandri, director Alexandru Dabija, will be presented at the Contemporary Drama Festival in Braşov, on Sunday, 30 November, 7 p.m. The festival, organized by the "Sică Alexandrescu" Theatre of Braşov, is one with a long tradition, the only one of its kind in Romania, dedicated exclusively to contemporary drama. The most important productions of the previous year, based on such plays, are invited to participate in the Contemporary Drama Festival. It is a competitive festival, Awards being presented for: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Design, Best Director, Best Performance, and also a Special Award of the Jury.
