In memoriam Vasilica Stamatin

 

IN MEMORIAM

 

VASILICA STAMATIN

(22 November 1964 - 7 September 2014)

 

The actress Vasilica Stamatin left this world way too soon, following a long and hard suffering.

Born in 1964 in Piatra Neamţ, Vasilica Stamatin graduated from the Târgu-Mureş Theatre Institute, class of 1988.

In 1999 she became an actress of the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre, an institution she devotedly served until the end of 2010.  

Intelligent, with a witty spirit, cheerful, trusted comrade, Vasilica Stamatin completed her theoretical studies by graduating from, and also successfully obtaining her PhD at, the Faculty of Psychology.

In the two decades she acted on the stage of the Cluj Napoca National Theatre, she portrayed a diverse array of characters, in both comedy and drama. Here are a few of her most memorable roles: The Fiancé in Personality transfer byD. Solomon, Mommina in Tonight we improvise by Luigi Pirandello, Mrs. Ford in Falstaff, based on W. Shakespeare, Hermia in A Midsummer Nights Dream by W. Shakespeare, Judith in Boeing-Boeing by Marc Camoletti, The Doctor in The Colonel Bird by Hristo Boytchev, Duniasha in The Cherry Orchard Sequel by Nic Ularu, Gillian/Deidre in RocknRoll by Tom Stoppard, in collaboration with important directors such as Alexandru Dabija, V.I. Frunză, Anca Bradu, Mihai Măniuţiu, Andrei Şerban.

The part of Toinette in The Imaginary Invalid by Molière, directed by Sanda Manu, was one of her most beloved parts, keeping her close to her audience for many years.

Now that we must part, we, her colleagues, want to bid her farewell. Her memory will remain alive in our souls in the souls of those that admired her.
