As long as we keep asking ourselves in what way the Moldavians are superior to the Uzbeks, we might also ask ourselves in what way the Romanians are superior to the Moldavians. We can even extend the question to the superiority of any other race. However, the answer should be a comforting one: no race is superior to another. When the story of a "nobody" becomes everybody’s story, when the great powers (represented today by Putin and Obama) play Monopoly, we, the "nobodies", should feel slightly more relaxed next to each other. And that’s because we all participate in the waving of the flags. I invite not to tolerance, but to understanding. Maybe even to solidarity, the sister of responsibility. (Leta Popescu)
