Stefan Tsanev is one of the most famous contemporary Bulgarian playwrights in Eastern Europe. The Other Death of Joan D’arc premiered in Sofia in 1991 and then opened in 12 other thetres in Bulgary. The play had a huge international success and was produced in Pittsburgh and Montreal (1993), Warsow, Bratislava and Moscow (1995), Nish (1996), Giurgiu, Murmansk, Atena (2004) and Istanbul (2005).
