"A strong community is a community of valuable people" is the slogan of the Feminine Excellence Gala organized this year in May in Cluj-Napoca by the Business Women Association in Cluj (AFA). Within the 4th edition of this event, eight Cluj ladies have been honored for excellence in their professional fields, for their high competence and passion in undertaking their projects, thus becoming an inspiration for all of us.

The first award of the gala represented a great honor for the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre, as it was given to Ștefana Pop-Curșeu, our artistic director, for her remarkable achievements as a cultural manager.

A new edition of “Atipic Beauty“

"Atipic Beauty", a moving fashion event, reaching its 9th edition this year, has returned to Cluj. The event took place on June 21st, at the Casion Urban Culture Centre, in the "Simion Bărnuțiu" Central Park.

12 wheelchair-bound girls, alongside city notabilities, participated in this event which aims to raise public awareness about disabled persons and to remove the barriers between them and society. The purpose of the event was to raise funds for the purchase of 12 wheelchairs destined for the participants in the previous evenings.

"Atipic Beauty" was initiated by Magda Coman, the president of the Open Your Heart Association, who worked as a professional model and is currently bound to a wheelchair, as a result of an accident.

The event was organized by the Open Your Heart Association together with our trusted partner, Wens Travel. Cluj-Napoca National Theatre joined the event through the active participation of its artistic director Stefana Pop-Curșeu, who, this year, accompanied one of the beautiful disabled girls on the runway. Congratulations to the organizers for this heartfelt event!

Starting this year, the International Meetings in Cluj have a new traditional partner ready for long-term theatrical journeys. We are referring to the WENS Travel travel agency and its manager, Mrs. Mihaela Călușer.

Mrs. Mihaela Călușer's involvement in the community is well-known to the citizens of Cluj, as she is a member of the Business Women Association of Cluj and is involved in constantly innovative human and social projects, attentive to the needs of those around her, a person with creative ideas and high quality results, constantly concerned with increasing the level of education through the involvement of Wens Travel in theatre, music and film.

In its fifth day (Saturday, 10 October, 11:00 a.m.) of our festival THE INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS IN CLUJ, with the topic Our Europe, a special event took place, hosted by the trusted sponsor of the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre: Liberty Technology Park Cluj. It was a round table dedicated to the Theatre Festivals in the current international context. The extremely interesting and professional discussion was moderated by Roberto Bacci, the artistic director of Teatro Nazionale della Toscana, joined by the most important international festival directors from Portugal, Turkey, Serbia, Spain, Germany and, of course, Romania.
