"Maramureşul is a miraculous place and one time I have been there I heard the voice of the old Elada, the voices of the Greek tragedies... Their music comes from a ritual archaic place which to me seem close to Elada. The rehearsals confirmed the fact that the Greek tragedies’ verb goes together perfectly with the rhythm of the Maramureş traditional music and the fact that the voices of this place and the ones of the antique Greek world were consonant, understood each other... I have put a special emphasis on the current forgetfulness of these archaic areas and their slow destruction. Elada, just like Maramureş, are worlds of the marginalized... My production is, in fact, an essay in which I constructed a dialogue between two worlds. The end of the production is about the beauty of a world which still exists and about the beauty of passing away, the tragedy and the aura surrounding this passing." (Mihai Măniuţiu)
