The production AMALIA TAKES A DEEP BREATH by Alina Nelega, director Tudor Lucanu, one woman show with Anca Hanu, has been selected within the contest festival festCo 2015 - The Romanian Comedy Festival. The performance will be presented on location. In this respect, Cluj-Napoca National Theater will supplement the performance schedule for MAY 2015 with a representation of this production which will take place on Monday, 11 May, at 7 pm in the "Euphorion" Studio.
On this occasion, the members of the jury of this year’s Romanian Comedy Festival will be in Cluj-Napoca: Sanda Manu - director (president of the jury), Adrian Titieni - actor and rector of the "I.L. Caragiale" National Theatre and Film University Bucharest; Coca Bloos - actress; Monica Andronescu - theater critic; Nina Brumușilă - set designer.
The Romanian Comedy Festival - festCO was created in 2003 at the initiative of the manager of the Comedy Theater, the actor George Mihăiţă. festCO aims at promoting Romanian playwriting and also the best productions based on Romanian comedies. The previous 10 editions gathered theater companies from the country and from abroad, both state theaters and independent companies. As of 2006, the festival is also a contest, giving awards for the best performances and the best artists within the Romanian Comedy Gala. (source: festco.ro)
