Schindler, so titled after the resonant name of an elevator manufacturing company, is a show about the tensions that arise from the collision of fundamentally different worlds. With his distinctive sense of humour, Dragoș Pop, in the dual role of playwright and director, creates a comedy about the conjunctural meeting of two personalities apparently incompatible, who, locked in a stuck elevator, are forced to dispute their intellectual dominance and even negotiate an intergenerational compromise. Alex Rădescu (Ovidiu Crișan) is a septuagenarian university professor and literary critic who displays his erudition with aplomb, sometimes with lewd slips in his interaction with the young impresario Ramona Berciu (Romina Merei Merei), a woman whose worldly superficiality alternates with a supposed admiration for the older interlocutor. In a (deliberately) ironic way, the clever dialog playfully deconstructs contemporary illusions about intelligence, unfolding like an act of intellectual prestidigitation. Appearances are successively dynamited, at an accelerated, often disconcerting pace, ensuring the unpredictability of the denouement. The two performers explore, through a comical-sophisticated play, the contrast between the protagonists, resulting in an entertaining performance that advocates the kind of subtle, layered humour capable of provoking a critical and introspective reception.

"Schindler is a comedy of ideas, built around a seemingly irreconcilable duality: two characters, two perspectives, two worlds in collision. A sophisticated game of cat and mouse in which identities are overturned and power relations are unexpectedly reconfigured. The play explores the encounter between two generations separated by a technological, cultural and axiological abyss, captured in a tense dialogue where irony and subtext become subtle weapons. Against a poetic backdrop, balancing between morality and interest, truth remains a fragile construction, always negotiable." (Dragoș Pop)
