Bryan Reynolds, professor at Irvine University, California, is the author of many plays and essays, especially on Shakespeare's work, but also the author of film scripts and the founder of a theatre company that has toured in Romania, Poland and the Czech Republic.
Blue Shade is Bryan Reynolds' latest creation, in which the author Americanizes Büchner play, Woyzeck. The modern Woyzeck - Joey - goes through a "transversal moment", marked by uncertainties. Living in an imaginary world - led by the laws of tolerance, good understanding and in no case by the laws of today's society, altered by the media invasion - the hero will have to deal with an inner disequilibrium that will push him to murder.
The characters of his plays (Unbuckled, Railroad, Blue Shade) go through certain transitory moments, unsecure areas - generically named transversal moments - which make the character to be aware of his inner fragility, directly connected with the forming environment. The clash between his own conscience and the group conscience will create the drama of the character-individual of Bryan Reynolds' theatre.
