Inspired by Irene, professor Rubek creates a unique piece, The Resurrection Day, a statue representing a young woman of absolute purity. But the creation has worn-out both the creator and the model. It has devastated their souls in such a manner that they have become carcasses, living-dead, wandering through the world with no meaning. The young and tumultuous Maia enters the Professor's life, as she becomes his wife. The artist re-encounter with the one who once inspired him could represent a revival.
