T.Th. Ciupe
2 January 1933 - 6 November 2010
T.Th. Ciupe, one of the most important Romanian set designers, who was part of Cluj-Napoca National Theatre’s team for almost 60 years, with over 100 designs, passed away Saturday, 6 November 2010.
The director Mihai Măniuţiu will hold a conference in Bucharest on "The actor and his masks" during the National Theatre Festival. The conference will take place on Friday 5 November 4pm, in the Aula of the "Carol I" Central University Library.
"Who could measure how much unreal is there in the diurnal reality of an actor? When can it be said about an actor that he is himself? When a multiple? When denying any identity? When he seems to be more than one or when he seems to be no one?" are some of the questions to which the director Mihai Măniuțiu and his guests - Marcel Iureş, Irina Petrescu, Radu Amzulescu, Oana Ştefănescu, Marian Râlea - will try to answer, in the conference hosted by Sorin Alexandrescu, professor at the University of Bucharest and director of the Center of Excellency in the Study of the Image. There will be musical intermissions offered by Ștefan Cazacu (cello).
The event is organized by the Center of Excellency in the Study of the Image, Spandugino Foundation and the Central University Library.
The filnal results of the management projects competition for Cluj-Napoca National Theatre were approved.
The management project presented by Mr. Mihai-Petre Măniuţiu received the highest grade, 9,28.
