The team of the National Theatre of Cluj-Napoca has departed for Bucharest, to take part in the National Theatre Festival of Bucharest with two performances: The Trial after Kafka, directed by Mihaela Panainte with a scenography by Helmut Stürmer, and Playlist by C.C. Buricea Mlinarcic, directed by Tudor Lucanu. The Trial can be seen at Odeon Theatre, Majestic Hall, in 21 October from 9 p.m., and 22 October from 8 p.m., while Playlist will play at the National Theatre of Bucharest, Small Hall, in 23 October from 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.
Mihaela Panainte says about the performance of The Trial that "the existential topic proposed by the author is that of the Being who has lost itself because of its boundless vanity, who was sabotaged by the complex of its own superiority, who has fallen victim of an identity and spiritual crisis. În the times we live in, man has lost awareness of his connection to the Universe because he has been hypnotized by his own person. A person who is weighed down by an exacerbated ego beyond which only rests of a fake identity, built on illusion still hold". While Tudor Lucanu says about Playlist that "it is the history of a mixt family that starts in Romanian communism and gradually adapts to the new social forms. Playlist is a recent history. A history that changed us and continues to change us whether we want it or not. A history you can't control, but which rather controls you. A history dominated by all kinds of manipulation".
