Anca Hanu, actress of the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre, is the best actress of 2014!

 

Anca Hanu, actress of the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre, received yesterday, during the UNITER Gala, the Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. She was given this award for her role in the production Amalia takes a deep breath by Alina Nelega, director Tudor Lucanu. For this award, the following actresses were also nominated: Alexandra Fasolă for her roles in "The Good Person of Szechwan", at the Bulandra Theatre in Bucharest, and Daniela Török for the role of Sally Bowles in "Cabaret", at the German State Theatre in Timişoara. 

For her role in „Amalia takes a deep breath", Anca Hanu also received the Award for Best Actress at the Short Theatre Festival in Oradea, 2014 and the Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role offered by the Cluj-Napoca National Theatre within the event Cluj International Meetings 2014. The actress was also nominated for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for her role as the Siren in The Island, "Atelier" International Theatre Festival, 20th edition, Baia-Mare, and the Award for Debut, at the UNITER Gala for her role as Grace in Cleansed by Sarah Kane, 2007. Together with Ada Milea, Anca Hanu received the Award for best Music for the production Sânziana and Pepelea at the Romanian Comedy Festival in Bucharest, 2014. 

At this year’s UNITER Gala, Cluj-Napoca National Theatre also had another nomination, the actor Sorin Leoveanu for Best Actor in a Leading Role.

The 23rd edition of the UNITER Gala took place yesterday, 25 May 2015. The members of the nomination jury were the theatre critics Monica Andronescu, Mircea Morariu and Maria Zărnescu, and the final jury that decided the winners had the following members: the set designer Ştefania Cenean, the literary critic Dan C. Mihăilescu, the actress Valeria Seciu, the theatre critic Oana Stoica and the director Alexa Visarion. The complete list of nominations and awards is available here.
